The World Peace Council (WPC) and the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples (MovPaz), Regional Coordinator of the WPC for America and the Caribbean, convoke to the 4th International Seminar for Peace and Abolition of Foreign Military Bases.
The Seminar is to take place on November 22-25, 2015 in the province of Guantánamo, where a territory of 117 sq. Km. has been illegally occupied for more than one-hundred years by a United States naval base that is currently one of the most terrifying and inhuman torture centers of the planet.
This seminar will be an important occasion to increase the unity in the international struggle in favor of the suppression of the arbitrary and illegal military bases imposed against the peoples’ will.
All those interested in attending the 4th Seminar may request the information regarding the event from Silvio Platero Yrola, President of MovPaz, with e-mail addresses [email protected] and [email protected]. They may also address MovPaz official Alina Fernández at [email protected].
Those persons who may wish to present papers during the work sessions of the commission will have the possibility to do it in 10 minutes. For organizational purposes we kindly ask you to inform the titles of these papers using the e-mail addresses of MovPaz.
The registration fee for the 4th Seminar will be 25 Cuban convertible pesos (CUC) or the equivalent in Cuban national pesos (CUC). This fee will be paid at Hotel Guantánamo, which will be the main lodging place of the event.
AMISTUR CUBA S.A., the travel agency of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), will be in charge of ensuring the lodging, transportation and general logistics of the event. Those persons who may wish to remain in Cuba to participate in additional tourist programs once the event is over must coordinate it previously with the Agency. Call for the IV International Seminar for Peace and elimination of Military Bases that will be celebrated in Cuba in November 2015. This seminar aims to denounce the interference policy of the global powers that attempt to disseminate military bases in all continents.
This seminar will take place in Guantanamo Province where an illegal 117 square kilometers Military Base has existed for more than one hundred years. Today this military Base is one of the most brutal and terrifying center for torture in the planet.
This meeting will be an excellent occasion to increase the unity of the international battle for the suppression of the arbitrary and illegal military bases imposed against the will of the people.

Those wishing to make statements in the work commissions under the program will have 10 minutes for them. For organizational purposes, the titles of the papers should be sent to the e-mails given.

14:30 hrs. Meeting with local authorities at Caimanera cinema where local authorities will explain to the participants the side effect of the Military Base upon local people.

17:00 hrs. Political and Cultural event at central park in Caimanera Municipality where the Final Statement of the Seminar will be read along with the locals of Caimanera.
