No to Raúl Castro Indictment! US Hands Off Cuba!

On May 14th, 2026, the United States called to indict Deputy of the National Assembly of the People’s Power of Cuba and hero of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro.

The National Network on Cuba condemns this as an act of imperialist intimidation against the revolutionary people of Cuba.

U.S. representatives and Cuban interventionists María Elvira Salazar and Carlos Giménez are threatening increased military aggression against Cuba by signing a letter claiming the indictment of Raúl Castro is necessary. These claims accuse Raúl Castro of ordering a Cuban fighter jet to shoot down two “Brothers to the Rescue” planes in 1996. These planes violated Cuban airspace over the course of several months, dropping anti-Cuban government leaflets which represent a security threat and provocation. The pilots had been given appropriate warning of these violations by the Cuban government, yet continued to escalate against Cuba. Despite the U.S. media’s attempt to sanitize the reputation of this organization by naming it a “humanitarian group,” “Brothers to the Rescue” was headed by CIA-operative José Basulto and has been used as a tool to uplift the anti-revolutionary exile community who are committed to waging a terror war against the Republic of Cuba.

The Cuban people have a right to defend their national sovereignty. They have a right to protect their Revolution by responding to intimidation by the world’s largest imperialist terrorist organization, the United States’ military. The so-called United States views any act of Cuba’s self preservation as an offensive attack that must be punished by war. Whether the Cuban people develop their own energy resources, participate in their right to trade, or uplift the heroes of their historic struggle, the U.S. will stop at nothing to attempt to destabilize and stop Cuba’s revolutionary process.

The National Network on Cuba stands in full solidarity and support of Raúl Castro, hero of the Republic of Cuba. We will continue to support the Cuban people and their defense of the Cuban Revolution and fight to stop all escalation against Cuba’s sovereignty.

Long Live the Cuban Revolution!
End the Blockade!
NO WAR ON CUBA!
