«Today the essential mission of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) remains the same as that of September 28, 1960: to defend the Revolution from every neighborhood, from every block. The enemy we defend against remains the same, although it adjusts its methods, deepens the blockade to drown and despair, uses new and more powerful tools to confuse us and break our unity.

This was ratified by the Hero of the Republic of Cuba Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDRs, during the celebration of the six decades of existence of the largest mass organization in the country, which was chaired – this Monday in Havana by José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party.
