The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), social and mass organizations
in Cuba and the Cuban chapter of the Network in Defense of Humanity, are calling for the
participation of friends of Cuba in the III World Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Cuba
Solidarity 2014.
This meeting organized by the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, is the continuity of the
two previous editions, and will represent the international support to the validity of the
model of social justice that symbolizes Cuba and its viability as an alternative for ¨another
better and possible world” that the people of world is fighting for.
Amid a constant aggression, media disinformation and global crisis, this will be an
encounter that will enable the construction of initiatives, proposals and exchanges of
strategies in solidarity with Cuba, in order to improve our instruments and fighting
mechanisms to spread more effectively the truth about the Cuban Five, holding on to it
faithfully and reach out with it where necessary.
Upon calling our III World Meeting, the Cuban people are still getting the impact of 50
years of economic war and ruthless blockade, which we will continue withstanding and
overcoming, plus the vain and unaltered imperialist attempts of internationally isolate our
Revolution. Our people will remain united, building and improving our socialism, and
contributing our modest experiences to the integration processes being carried out in the
Latin-American region, offering viable alternatives bracing for the best in the future of our
children, and the overwhelming failure of the neoliberal capitalism.
Accompanied by the anti-imperialist thinking, visionary and humanist of Jose Marti and
Fidel, eternal leaders and exponents of our traditions, Cuba confirms its international vocation and solidarity with all the noble causes that benefit the peoples and the enjoyment of their fundamental rights: freedom, peace and social justice.
From this Afro-Asian Latin American and Caribbean island, on the 55th anniversary of its
Revolution, we would like to encourage the forces, movements, groups, personalities and
persons of good will, to emphasize on everything that unites us, respecting our
differences, that as a last resort constitute other of our strong wealth: diversity, and hope
you come back for the next edition of the encounter from 27 to 31 October 2014 .
It will be a ¨jury of millions¨ that summoned the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo
Hernandez, in which we will, if necessary, still engaged in the struggle not to end until we
have back our five antiterrorist fighters.
