Trump wins a prize for failure

The Bay of Pigs Award, granted to U.S. President Donald Trump by the Cuban-American mafia in South Florida, represents a prize for failure, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla commented on his Twitter account.

“Any award in the U.S. on the Bay of Pigs is a prize for failure. Whoever honors the President in this way, labels him a failure. The anti-Cuban political machine in South Florida is corrupt and dishonest, it gives President bad advice to take an isolated and repudiated course,” Rodríguez Parrilla stated.

The counterrevolution in Florida rewards the President with a symbol of the defeat suffered by Brigade 2506, composed of 1,500 mercenaries paid by the White House, who disembarked in April of 1961 in the Ciénaga de Zapata, with the goal of destroying the revolutionary government.

Those presenting this recognition to President Trump reveal their ignorance of the recorded history of the 66 hours lived by a people organized in popular militias, who inflicted the first defeat on imperialism in its own geographical area.

The Central Intelligence Agency cooked up the invasion, planning to occupy a piece of Cuban territory and establish a provisional government, which would request the recognition and intervention of the United States and the Organization of American States (OAS).

In the prelude to this military attack, two airports in Cuba were bombed, and during the burial of the dead, on April 16, 1961, the socialist character of the Revolution was affirmed. Fully aware of what they were defending, the militias took to the trenches and fought until victory.
