Dear NNOC friends,
The Cuban International Medical Program has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by John Kirk a Professor of Latin American Studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Although direct “lobbying” of the Nobel Committee is not allowed, we would like to take advantage of the opportunity both to support the nomination and to increase public awareness of Cuba’s contributions to world health and disaster response. We can write letters to the editor of local publications, participate in health related meetings, contribute to radio/television programs, etc.
Please think of ways that the solidarity movement can contribute to the effort to publicize and support this noteworthy, long overdue and well deserved nomination. We will include a discussion of this during our July 8 conference call.
In Solidarity,
NNOC Co-Chairs
