CARICOM Denounces US Blockade against Cuba
Georgetown, Jun 14 (Prensa Latina) President of the Council for Foreign Affairs and the Community of CARICOM, Peter David, denounced in Georgetown on Friday, representing the group, US economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba.Recently, Donald Trump´s government activated Title III of the criticized regulation which establishes that third-country companies will be responsible to the former owners of intervened Cuban properties or to their successors for damages to ‘trafficking’ with confiscated properties.
Such section intends to grant the claiming right to those who were not US citizens when their properties were nationalized due to they left the country, abandoning them.
The Cuban government and people are grateful to CARICOM for their support in the fight against the US blockade on the Cuban people in their attempt to end the Revolution and its socialist system.
Cuba restates its commitment to maintain cooperation with the Caribbean, which has developed in multiple areas, including: health, education, sports, agriculture, biotechnology, construction, confrontation and risk reduction, natural disasters, among others.
For instance, concerning ​​solidarity cooperation, in the Caribbean nations, approximately 1,723 Cuban collaborators are working, 6,739 students have graduated in our country and 727 Caribbean students are studying in Cuba.
