CANCELLED – EMERGENCY COUNTER-PROTEST SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29 IN FRONT OF THE CUBAN UN MISSION in NYC

Apparently emboldened by the elevation of the “Cuba Question” in the Presidential Election — via the redbaiting attacks on Bernie Sanders for simply saying “not everything is bad about Cuba” and praising the elimination of illiteracy — anti-revolutionary forces among Cuban-Americans (a shrinking minority who oppose normalization) have called for a protest Saturday, February 29 near the Cuban Mission at the United Nations (on Lexington Ave. between 38th and 39th Streets).

As always when the Cuba Solidarity Movement finds out about such actions, we are determined to counter-mobilize with greater numbers and answer their lies and cheerleading for US sanctions and aggression.

SO WE NEED TO MOBILIZE FOR THIS SATURDAY FROM 1:00 to 4:00 PM. WE ARE SECURING A POLICE PERMIT AND WILL PUT THIS AT THE TOP OF THE AGENDA AT TONIGHT’S NY-NJ CUBA SI COALITION MEETING. A GRAPHIC FLYER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CIRCULATION LATER TODAY.
