European organizations support Nobel Peace Prize for Cuban doctors
HAVANA, Cuba, May 21 (ACN) More than 25 European organizations are backing the proposed awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Cuba’s medical brigades for their contribution to the worldwide confrontation with COVID-19.
Launched on April 28 by the associations Cuba Linda and France Cuba, the initiative has so far been supported by solidarity groups, political forces and trade unions in France, Spain, Ireland and Italy, and by around a thousand Internet users on the Facebook page Prix Nobel de la paix pour les brigades médicales cubaines Henry Reeve, Prensa Latina reported.
Some of the defenders of the acknowledgement of doctors who in countries of different continents attend to people who contract the new coronavirus advocated for extending the campaign to an international committee.
In recent days, the Departmental Union of the General Confederation of Labor of France of Bocas del Rodano, the Committee of Toulouse France Cuba, the Spanish Euskadi Cuba, Cubainformacion.TV and Communists of Catalonia and the Italian Associazione Umbra di Solidarieta Internazionalista con Cuba joined the award request.
The platform calls for the Nobel Peace Prize for the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics, which since its creation in 2005 has saved hundreds of thousands of lives in African, Latin American, Caribbean and Asian regions hit by earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and epidemics.

The text accompanying the invitation to support the proposal reminds that the help of its health professionals can no longer be ignored by the mainstream media
