Organizations, political parties, international networks and personalities of the world convene from today until October 10 an anti-imperialist week with the aim of denouncing the problems of humanity and building a better world.

We will build a future that treasures life before profit, a future of brotherhood between peoples, says in one of its parts the Manifesto for the Future, released on the occasion of the day.

Humanity ‘is threatened by an invisible virus’ that spreads, says the text in reference to the Covid-19 pandemic and adds that for a long time ‘other viruses’ have challenged us such as unemployment, hunger, racism, patriarchy, inequality and war.

The document denounces that these problems are present in different ways on the planet and strongly attack the lives of workers and peasants, and of those who experience the impact of social inequality, while a minority are the beneficiaries.

Regarding the current crisis, he argues that the capitalist system has no answers since “their policies are hollow” and instead of feeding and sheltering they use the vast machines of destruction such as the police and military forces against the workers and the peasantry.

‘If a poor country tries to stand up, seeks to exercise its sovereignty, a whole arsenal of powers is used against it’ (financial, diplomatic and military). They dominate us with weapons, but also with ideas, the document denounces.

The Manifesto for the Future states that it is easier for capitalists to provoke wars than to fill the stomach of human beings with food and recognizes that ‘this is a failed system’.

The signatories assure that, despite the complex situation, the majority of the inhabitants of the planet, did not renounce the possibility of a better future, “beyond profits and privileges”, of capitalism and imperialism.

By the way, they propose to build a future where brotherhood between peoples prevails, life instead of profits and racist wars, and social hierarchies are abolished.

The Manifesto is signed by organizations such as ALBA Movement, World March of Women, São Paulo Forum, Tunisian Workers ‘Party, Cuban Workers’ Center, Communist Party of Nepal, Democratic Movement of Women, among others.

MANIFESTO FOR THE FUTURE: ONLY WHEN IT IS DARK ENOUGH CAN THE STARS BE SEEN

(Official call for the anti-imperialist week)

When we face them, hungry stomachs, the imperialists seek their weapons. When the imperialists confront us, we, hungry stomachs, join our arms and march forward.

Our humanity is threatened by an invisible virus that spreads rapidly; But we have long been challenged by other viruses, such as unemployment, hunger, racism, patriarchy, inequality, and war. These viruses manifest themselves differently in different parts of the world, they strongly attack the lives of workers and peasants, and of those who experience the impact of social inequality; meanwhile, there is a minority of people who benefit from the devastation.

The capitalist system has no answers for these crises; their policies are hollow. Instead of looking for a way to feed and shelter us, the capitalists build vast machines of destruction: police and military forces that suffocate the lives of the working class in the rich nations and the peasantry and the working class in the poorer nations. If a poor country tries to rise up, seeks to exercise its sovereignty, a whole arsenal of powers is used against it: financial, diplomatic and military power. They dominate us with weapons, but also with ideas. They try to convince us that their views are correct.

The administrators of the capitalist system are rushing to draw their weapons and target distant adversaries, to drive their tanks into our lands and occupy our homes, to destroy nature and destroy our world. It is easier for them to start wars than to fill human stomachs with food. They would rather inflame people with jingoism and racism than deal with the fact that it is a failed system that relies more and more on unrecognized care work for women and the harsh working conditions imposed on miners and laborers. the factories.

The planet is on fire, viruses advance, hunger stalks the earth, but even in this disaster, we, the vast majority of the planet’s inhabitants, have not given up on the possibility of a future.

We expect better than this, a world beyond profit and privilege, a world beyond capitalism and imperialism, a world that sings the song of humanity. Our hearts are bigger than your weapons, our love and our struggle will overcome your greed and your indifference.

Our movements are planting many seeds. We need to water them, take care of them, make sure they flourish. We will build a future that treasures life before profit, a future of brotherhood between peoples, instead of racist wars, a future in which social hierarchies are abolished and we enjoy mutual dignity.

Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. Now it’s dark enough!
