GRANMA: Cuba-U.S. Bilateral Commission to hold first meeting
The recently established Cuba-U.S. Bilateral Commission is scheduled to hold its first meeting September 11 in Havana, with the Cuban delegation to be led by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, the Foreign Ministry’s director general for the United States, while the U.S. State Department’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for South America and Cuba, Edward Alex Lee, will lead that country’s delegation

HAVANA.—To be held on September 11, in Havana, is the first meeting of the Cuba-U.S. Bilateral Commission, the creation of which was announced by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and Secretary of State John Kerry, during the latter’s visit to Havana this past August 14.
During this meeting, delegations from the two countries – led by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, the Foreign Ministry’s director general for the United States, and the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for South America and Cuba, Edward Alex Lee – will decide on an agenda of topics to be addressed in this stage, following the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.
The Bilateral Commission will discuss new areas of cooperation which could benefit both countries; the dialogue on bilateral and multilateral affairs, including those on which different conceptions exist; and questions pending resolution by Cuba and the United States.
