For those not familiar with the beautiful Havana district of Vedado, the street name of “Linea” might not mean much, but for residents of the Cuban capital it is one of the city’s reference points.

“Just hours before Irma made landfall, Donald Trump renewed the US economic blockade on Cuba for another year. While Cuba struggles to rebuild, it is clear that the blockade will make the situation worse.
As city authorities go about patching up walls and constructing new homes, Cuba will have to pay even more for building materials. The blockade prevents Cuba from purchasing items from multinationals that trade with the US, forcing the island to find alternative sources of supplies from further away.”
