MEDICC announces an upcoming exchange in Havana, Cuba, December 11-18, 2016, that is open by application now. This program will take only 20 participants maximum!

The online application form is available here. The application deadline is September 1, 2016, and a non-refundable deposit of $500 and required documents will be due October 1, 2016. To travel on this program, your passport must be valid through June 18, 2017. Program costs are estimated at $4,800 – $5,200 per person not including travel to/from and accommodations in Miami prior to departure, and cash expenses in Cuba. An overnight in Miami is required on Saturday, December 10. Please note: costs and arrangements are subject to change due to heavy demand for Cuba travel in the upcoming season.

Medical Education Cooperation with Cuba
Since 1997, MEDICC has worked to enhance cooperation among the US, Cuban and global health communities aimed at better health outcomes and equity. MEDICC produced the feature film ¡Salud! and publishes the MEDLINE-indexed journal MEDICC Review. MEDICC supports research in Cuba by US health professionals, assists US students and graduates of Havana’s Latin American Medical School to return to US underserved communities, and organizes Community Partnerships for Health Equity to improve health care and access in communities such as South Los Angeles and Oakland, California; Albuquerque, New Mexico; The Bronx, New York; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Red Mesa, Navajo Nation; and Summit County, Ohio.
