New Cuban Ambassador to the UN presents credentials

United Nations, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) The new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, presented his credentials in a virtual ceremony due to the conditions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

When appointed, Pedroso Cuesta served as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations.

The diplomat, who presented his credentials on Friday, is a graduate of the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations, in Havana (1987); and has a Master´s Degree in National Defense.

He was a member of Cuban delegations to different UN General Assembly sessions, to multiple international meetings and events, including the UN Conference on Environment and Development and on Small Island Developing States.

The diplomat also participated in the climate change treaties, and previously served as Deputy Director of Multilateral Affairs and General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

He was also ambassador in the Republic of Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-Habitat.
