NNOC: Condolences to the Cuban People

Condolences to the Cuban People
Statement from the National Network on Cuba
The National Network on Cuba sends our sincerest condolences to the families and loved ones of the passengers and crew who lost their lives or are critically injured in yesterday’s tragic plane crash outside of Jose Marti Airport in Havana, Cuba.
We send our love and solidarity to the entire Cuban family who from the moment of the accident have expressed the profound sadness and loss felt by all, and especially to the rescue and medical teams, to the Communist Party, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and other elected leaders who rushed to the crash site and are providing solidarity and support for the families mourning their lost loved ones.
Although the plane that crashed yesterday was not a Cuban plane, we know Cuba is proud of its aviation history and its ability to keep its planes safe despite the difficulty it has obtaining parts due to the inhumane U.S. blockade in place for more than 60 years.
We want our Cuban sisters and brothers to know that we not only send our condolences, but we will continue to do everything in our power to end the blockade.

In solidarity,

NNOC CoChairs
