You can lift the blockade…
Statement from December’s solidarity endorser, Arnold August, Montreal based journalist and author:
I add my voice to the New York Cuba Solidarity Project (NYCSP) appeal. It consists of a just call requesting that members of Congress join the world-wide rejection of the U.S. blockade against Cuba. Americans should have the right to travel to Cuba as we Canadians do. Nothing is more natural. Furthermore, the U.S. blockade is extraterritorial in that it affects other countries such as Canada that trade with Cuba. Ending the blockade is a planetary political/economic issue/moral issue. Members of Congress: Please get on the right side of history.

United our voices can pressure the U.S. Congress
to lift the blockade.
to lift the blockade.
On December 17th, 2014 President Obama made history when he announced that the U.S. government would begin the process of normalizing relations with Cuba. In his address, he referred to the U.S. government‘s policy towards Cuba has been, “archaic and a failure.”
For over 20 years, the United Nations has voted almost unanimously in favor of lifting the blockade/embargo. The world community has made their voices clear on this issue, yet the U.S. government has done nothing to rectify this matter.
Now with Trump in office trying to impede the progress towards normalizing relations with Cuba, we must galvanize as much support as we can from the U.S. Congress! We cannot simply focus on making our demands known to him, we must let the U.S. Congress know that we support:
- Ending the blockade against Cuba;
- Ending the Travel Ban and allowing unlimited travel to Cuba;
- We believe in returning Guantanamo to Cuba;
- Calling for an end to all attempts to create regime change in Cuba.
You can HELP END THE BLOCKADE!
