The National Network on Cuba (NNOC) endorses the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in their call for an international twitazo against the blockade this Saturday, September 17.
The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) has made a call for an international twitazo against the blockade this Saturday, September 17, with the tag #SolidaridadVsBloqueo, #YoVotoVsBloqueo, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (EST time). This call is part of the campaign “We have Memory, Solidarity against the Blockade.”
The goal of the project is to validate the damaging effects that the economic blockade of the United States continues to have on Cuba. ICAP is calling upon all people in favor of justice from around the world to join this Twitter campaign to demand the immediate end of this genocidal policy that has gone on for over 50 years.
This Twitazo is attempting to unite forces from all latitudes to highlight the fact that despite the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United State, the blockade remains intact with damaging results. It is a violation of the most elemental Human Rights.
Our message will convey to the world that the blockade is a unilateral policy and must be disassembled unilaterally by the United States itself, fully and without trying to impose conditions on Cuba.
On the 17th of each month the movement in solidarity with Cuba will be carrying out actions in favor of the lifting of the blockade and we are confident that this action will be an important beginning in bringing the end of a genocidal policy that had no justification in the first place.
